DENISON; John Marshall Clark rode out into the sunset of this life in love with Marilyn, his one and only love of 63 years by his side, and at home on Friday, Dec 18th. He was born in Lubbock, Texas, on Aug. 24,1936. to John G. and Anne Clair who preceded him into heaven along with his brother, Robert, to welcome him into the place prepared for them by the Savior and Lord. Jesus Christ. John was a real man in the John Wayne sense of the word; strong and confident; quiet and gentle; tough and tender. Although he was a rugged individual, he was part of the body of Christ who understood that Jesus was his example and his guide He loved his God, wife, family and friends as their patriarch. His values were simple, straightforward and passed down to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others whom he helped or influenced in his’ years. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Said another way; treat people the way you want to be treated. Although he will be missed, his legacy lives on through the many people he touched.John Clark is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters D’Anne Lee, Amy Taylor and husband, Wes, Carol Thornton and husband, Lee of Denison; and ten beloved grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.A celebration of John’s life will be held on Monday Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. in Hyde Park Presbyterian Church located at 1708 Hyde Park Avenue in Denison, TX 75021. The family will receive friends at the Clark’s home following the celebration service.
